My grandmother is about 75 and she has problems with her leegs, hands, and her hearing is going. She lost my grandfather about 3 years ago. Scince he also had bad health she was used to caring for him, now she can do less and less. She calls us about 4 times a day and no one else in the family will help.

I would like to find her a hobby that she can do without assisance.

Thank you

I would like to share with you some ideas that you can use with your grandmother. See, my grandmother is now, 77 and has dymensia and the onset of Alzheimers' disease, but I try to keep her active even when she doesn't "feel" up to it, because she reaps far more benefiets by being "active". She is enrolled at a day center. Check in your community for a senior citizen center, they are a really great resource. At home she can fold laundry to keep her hands moving, towels washclothse and smaller items may be easier. Check into your community for an in home care provider. There are churches and other groups that will visit with the elderly merely for the company. She could volunteer at a Head start program where she could be matched up with children who don't have grandparents. If her eyesight is still good she volunteer to read. It sounds to me that your elderly grandmother still needs to feel needed. And this is where her happiness and joy lys. I hope these suggestions are helpful.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

She should try knitting or quiltmaking or something with her hands that she can do at home. Using her hands will help the arthritis and she won't have to go anywhere. You can go and pick up supplies for her and once she gets good at it, she'll be wanting to make all kinds of things for people she loves.

she doesn't need a hobby - she needs peace of mind. she scared.- she needs to know that she has a support system. everyone needs this - from young to old. she's alone, all she wants is know that she has family that cares. she probably doesn't want to ask of you - but she truly does need. you. just spend a little time with her and show her that she is not alone - but that you all love her and are there to support her at any moment's notice. fear is one of the biggest obstacles we al face and at her age it's enourmous - help her.
