they say a guy from another universe, zenu, burned aliens in a volcano and now thier spirits are responsible for all of mankind's problems.

no wonder tom cruise has been behaving so strangely. it takes a certain kind of person to believe all that.

i thought that when christians explain christianity to non-believers that they had a hard row to hoe. can you imagine trying to get someone to join your religion when you have to tell them about an overlord from another galaxy freezing aliens and bringing them to earth and their spirits haunting and possessing cave-men millions of years ago.

and what's with those paddle things they make you hold while you talk about your feelings?

It is ridiculous and regarding South Park, when they had "This is what Scientologists actually believe" on the screen, they WEREN'T kidding. That's what Scientologists ACTUALLY BELIEVE.

The Scientologists in the crowd will naturally do their best to run interference and deny everything, but that's what they've been taught to do. They are compelled to defend the indefensible at all costs.

Oh, those "paddle things" are two tin cans that are hooked up to a small machine called the "e-meter", short for "electroencephaloneuromentimograph". Quite a mouthful, isn't it? They tout it as the means by which we rid ourselves of "engrams" (past negative experiences that may cause mental and/or physical ills), but every "e-meter" must predominantly display this warning on it's side:

Well I suppose if you only get your information from TV shows and satires that get laughs by making other people or religions in general (like South Park) look ridiculous.... then you would have that general impression about most things.
That goes for anyone else. This forum seems to have quite a few chronic TV watchers, and general "critics", so I'm sure you are not the only one.
Don't worry about it.
Fortunately Scientology isn't like the TV shows.
But then real life and TV are two very different things.
Hopefully one day you will notice this fact.

Just in case you ever do.... This is what Scientology is about.

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. It is a very practical religion.

When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

I've never seen the nip/tuck show nor do I know anything about Scientology but if Tom Cruise represents the rest of the Scientologists that I'd be very turned off. I think he is a nut.(not Scientologists)just him

Sorry you are mistaken. What you are mentioning has nothing to do with Scientology ideas and believes.

THIS IS SCIENTOLOGY

1. What is true for you is what you yourself observe to be true.

2. Man is his spirit not his mind or his body.

3. The spirit creates his own mind. Please, do not confuse the mind with the brain that is a physical thing. The mind is composed of mental image pictures as explained in Dianetics. Psychiatrist is a pseudo science because it is based in principles that are false. Psychiatry have never proven that any "mental illnesses" (like they call it) has any connection with a physical illness. Happiness, exhilaration, depression and psychosis are states of mind, not diseases. All what you have to do to stop being depress is change your state of mind. How you do that? By changing your ideas and considerations. Scientology provides the tools to achieve a better state of mind in accordance with your own point of view.
Also Psychiatrist excuse the most horrendous crimes as mental illnesses. 10. Scientology and aliens. The story of Xenu is just a fable like the story of "Jonah in the Whale" in the bible. Fables are not intended to be taken seriously. The story of Xenu doesn't have any significance on Scientology beliefs.

11. Scientology is so advance and so different that people can't understand it. People think that they know everything there is to know about life. And when they see Scientology they jump to conclusions when in reality they don't have a clue what are they talking about. The reality is that man attacks what he can't understand.

It is wierd. .some ppl in NY tricked me into going to one of their churches to watch a video. complete and utter bullsh&t. They say some diseases like asthma and stuff are all in the mind and not really an affliction. Then we wanted to leave, but they wanted us to fill out a form. .we used fake names and identities. really really wacked out religion.
