Technically, following the conventions of grammar, shouldn't the plural of the word "crucifix" be "crucifices"? You know, like matrix->matrices or index->indices?

Just curious, I never really thought about it before.

nope according to dictionary.com it's crucifixes... kinda like science breaks the i before e except after c rule...

Strictly speaking, data is the plural of datum, and should be used with a plural verb (like facts).
