I mean though I have been tempted myself to flush them down the toilet, why is the cat doing this?

Hey Jimbo, if someone makes one comment with the word toilet it is not a fetish. If you think it is I am sure it is you that has the fetish and it had to bother you..toilet,toilet,toilet....bet that made your day!

I don't know, but I have a cat who will take any sock she finds and drag it around the house pawing at it and meowing real strange. Big socks, baby socks, she will open a drawer to get at them. I find them everywhere.

But also cats cover up anything that is distasteful to them, from old food to a litter box that does not meet their standards. Why socks? It's a mystery to me.

I think socks must have some strange powers because either they are disappearing completely or doing weird things to cats.

If the muddle container is roofed, she ought to correctly be attempting to get privateness. cover the container you've them in, only positioned a towel over it and go away a area of interest for ventilation and so as that the mummy cat can get out and in. Or get a 2d muddle container and set one up with towels to be a kind of den for them. you'll favor that 2d container even as the kittens are waiting for muddle preparation!

Actually, there really isn't a reason..my cat carries around socks, hairbands, underwear, bras, shirts, shorts, shoes, everything. My friends who have cats say theirs do it, too. Cats are just weird. :]

There is a spray you can get, though (from Petsmart or something) that you spray on the object so it tastes bad to the animal. (It's scentless.)

It sounds to me like a fetish. I'd take him to a shrink (the cat, not your son) and while you're there tell him about your fixation on toilets.

It could be trying to make a bed in it's litter box for some strange reason.

Cats are not stupid. Those socks must smell really raunchy. Your kitty is just tidying up. That is hilarious.

probably for the same reason u want to throw them out. he obviously thinks that he ,ur son, missed the box and is trying to clean things up.

Who knows? But thanks for sharing a laugh today! I've had cats for years and none of them have done that one. They've done other things, but that's a new one on me!
