My hip has been hurting a lot ever since i took a foul in a basketball game. My cluster is going on a field trip to some amusement park. I will not be with a teacher all the time. I will be with my friends. I'm afraid my hip might give out. If this happens what do i do? Go to the first aid station? Have the first aid guy come to me? If I go to the first aid station will the guy talk me through it? How do i ask him for help without being embarrassed?
I know it's long but thank god for people who actually read the question!

Your profile name is Always_injured. Are you a hypochondriac?
Seriously.....I am not trying to be mean. But first of all I believe you will be okay at the amusement park. However, you may need to see a doctor about how worried you are about your health issues.

Yeah...I think that before the trip, if you have enough time, definitely go and see a doctor. They can help you with this kind of stuff. By the way, having your hip give out is nothing to be embarassed about. As to what you should do: if your hip does give out, I wouldn't try to move if I were you, you might just make it worse, have one of your friends go to a First Aid station and get help for you. They'll kow what to do. Good luck and I hope everything goes okay on your trip!

First i think you should get your hip checked out before you go. if you dont end up going to the doctors but still end up going on the trip and your hip does give out or start hurting dont be embarrassed to get medical assistance that's their job, to help people. Bring aspirin with you so if it does start hurting you will have something with you at all times. im 15 and have a 13 year old cousin who's hip was bothering him a while ago. it ended up having a chip in the bone from when he was playing football....really get it checked by an orthopedic Good luck....
p.s. Maby you should rethink the sports thing if you admit that you' re a clutz.

If you are young enough to be in basketball and to go on a field trip, your hip won't go out. I suffer from a problem with my ciatic nerve. I'm 25 years old. My hip has never gone out completely. I've stumbled and nearly fallen, but I haven't had a whole lot of problems with it.
Honestly, you are just sore. The best thing you can do is go on the trip and tough it out. It may hurt, but sometimes you have to force your body into doing activities while you are young so that you don't bust a hip when you become old. Unless the doctor says you have a fracture that could become worse if you don't rest it, get out there and have some fun.

First of all this question isn't that long =/
It would be helpful if i knew around how old you are
but if you really think it will be a problem then maybe you shouldn't go. If you feel well enough to go you should probably let someone know that you're concerned about it. If your hip gives out and you can't move then send somebody to get a teacher and first aid. You should be fine ^_^

This could be sciatic pain. This happens when your sciatic nerve gets pinched, either by injury or by the muscles around it becoming inflammed. There's not much you can do about it, although there are some stretches you can do to relieve it and you can take a NSAID to help reduce the swelling around it (like Ibuprofen, or Advil). Just take the recommended dose. I suggest seeing a doctor to be sure, because you may have injured something else without realizing it, like the bone itself. Hope that helps.

Serious hip problems associated with seemingly trivial injuries in your age group are not likely, but there are a couple of things that come to mind that are worrisome enough for you to check out with your doctor.

Okay so this is embarrasing but I passed out at Six Flags and they brought the first aid station to me, and wheel chaired me back to the station.

before you go on the field trip, visit the doctor and see what they say. maybe they can give you something that will take the pain away but won't make it so that you can't enjoy the field trip.
good luck!

i passed out at six flags too! Don't worry, they'll be there in a hurry, but if you really wanna keep yourself from suffering any embarrassment, I say go to a urgentcare clinic really fast and get yourself checked out.
