Hair grows on average 1/2" per month. More in the summer because of sun exposure and the Vitamin D that the suns ray emit.

Have you tried curling it? Curly hair is often cut in layers to help it lay better. If you wear it up, you'll probably have to put some pins in to keep the short layers up. Massaging your scalp everyday also promotes more hair growth because it stimulates the hair folicle (works the same for your cuticles too, just make sure they have oil or lotion on them). So next time you wash your hair, and every time after that...spend a little time, about a minute or so massaging your scalp while you shampoo and condition.

Use clip on extensions... this lady (I can't even call her a hairstylist because that would be insulting true stylists) cut my hair like joan jett (the long hair version not the short shave one) and the black hearts and my hair was alittle below my shoulders... all I ask for was layers boy did she give it to me. Any way no one ever suspected I wore extension most of the time I put my hair in a ponytail with the extensions on. Clips on are the best a more sanitary if you ask me... google it.

When I get haircuts I don't like I just wear it in a ponytail until it's grown out enough to look decent. Hair seems to grow pretty quick after it gets cut, so it'll probably be about 2 weeks before it grows a little. I would put it in a ponytail if I were you, it's what I always do when I get ugly haircuts... which happens at least twice a year unfortunately.

I know exactly where you are, I cut my hair too short once and it was horrible. I also have really thick hair like you do. Go to the salon and ask them to thin it for you, its amazing. They use special scissors to make your hair thinner and more manageable. You can try that and see if you like the style better and if not your hair will grow at 1/2" per month.

You should do what looks with what you have now.. Stand in the mirror and play with it and some pins, clips, or even some extenstions. In no time you will get compliments and it will make you feel so much better about this hair cut you hate so much.. Trust me I wanted a nice short cut and the lady made me look like a rooster.. so I feel your pain.

I got my hair cut really short in June. It was right at my ears and i was so miserable. It grew to my shoulders by November and know I love it. If i were you i would wear it up if you hate it that much that way it won't look so bad

You could leave it down or catch it to the back downwards.Or if you would like you could put it up also and take a little out the front or any were you feel like.

First...spray your hair green and wear it this way for 2 days.

Next....change the color to orange and wear it like that for 2 days.

Finally...spray it purple....wait 2 days and then shave everything off down to your scalp.

Go right back to the salon and they will fix it to your satisfaction! You don't have to be aggressive about it, just explain and they will do it. Even if it weren't a fancy salon .... our local Ultracuts (like Supercuts) has a seven day policy, even.
