THe best way is the "look". Don't stare though. The "look" is best described as looking/admiring him just a split second longer than normal. If you want to do it right let him notice you looking, but only for a second.
Second is to smile when he looks at you and if you can muster it, a slight blush... but not something that says you are too shy... just sorta says you were caught looking.
Works on me every time.

Smile, Look him in the Eyes and keep eye contact, and listen to what he says. Nodding helps

personally i like the long smile. and if he smiles back or gestures for you to talk to him you find common ground and "take off" from there. hope this helps??
