We had a Siberian Husky several years ago, and she was a good dog in a lot of ways. Very smart, quick to learn. However, she also chewed all our shrubs down and ran away every chance she got. We found out the hard way--huskies are runners, it's in their blood, and it's difficult to get them back once they've run off. I wouldn't get another one unless she had several acres of land to run and play on.

I absolutely love Huskies, and also Malmutes. I have one myself now, and I love her to death. She is the best behaved and easiest trained dog I have ever owned. I always had some worries about how well one would do in the house, especially since I orginially looked for a Malamute, but she turned out to be no problem at all. She's actually better behaved and housebroken than my little house dog. They are a wonderful breed of dog. Are you considering getting one for yourself?

I personally grew up with a Malamute and next to a Husky breeder. I have loved them since I was a small child.

We currently parent a Siberian Husky. He is the sweetest dog. He instinctively knows when children are around because he will sit without us telling him, and he is very gentle with them. He is fun-loving and will lick anyone to death. He is expressive, in that he "talks' to us. He will say, "Woo-woo-woo" when he wants to tattle on one of us. He did this once when he and my husband were playing and an ornament fell off the tree. I came down stairs and he greeted me with his woo-woo-woo. It was hilarious!

no, i don't like them. we adopted a husky from a pound YEARS ago. i'm not blaming the whole breed, but that dog was very bad. i later became a pet groomer. they are just impossible to work with. well, the ones i've incountered anywayz. so just from my experiances with them....NO WAY.
