Keep an open mind about this question. Eve was created from Adam's side, his rib, to show equality. She was not created of a piece of skull to show her above Adam. She was not created from a piece of foot to show she was beneath Adam. But created from a piece of Adam's side. This is symbolic in that Eve walks hand in hand with Adam, as his campanion. The fact that Adam should "have one less rib than Eve" should not be relevant. Besides, only the One who created them can fully answer that question.

Because having a rib removed is not a genetic trait that is passed down. Think of Adam's removed rib like a surgical procedure. He still naturally has the original number on a genetic level, he's just missing one.

it's figurative, meaning the Eve is to the side of Adam. they're together as a couple side by side. after all, this is possibly the oldest story in the world, you know some words could have easily been twisted like "side, or "rib".

I wondered about this for a while, then somebody told me that the genetic makeup wasn't changed. It would be like if you donated a kidney or lost a finger. If you had kids after you lost a finger you wouldn't have fingerless kids running around, would you? God didn't change the DNA of Adam when He took the rib out of him. I hope this helps with your confusion, it helped with mine as well.

Maybe Adam had 13 ribs in one side. A better question will be wich type of rib did God take... true, floating or fake.

Because men are not clones of a post Eve Adam...they are descendents of Adam and Eve....not copies.

Because all men are not Adam. They are merely descendents of his. If your father has his leg amputated does that mean that you would expect every child born into your family through his loins would have only one leg?
