Asperger's Syndrome is a relatively mild autistic disorder. People with Asperger's tend to be fairly high functioning, but have trouble with certain types of social interactions, and particularly with reading non-verbal social cues. They'll tend to have a hard time reading people's emotions, make less eye contact than normal, and show less interest in social interactions than other kids. But like I said, it's a relatively mild form. People with Asperger's Syndrome can usually go on to lead happy and productive lives. A lot of times people will actually learn strategies that let them come across as more "normal." People wth Asperger's Syndrome used to just be thought of typically as "nerds" or "geeks" before the disorder was recognized.
I don't know that your brother will be "normal," or that being "normal" is even a good thing, but I do think that he can grow up to be happy and productive.

Asperger Syndrome is a form of Autism, which is a neurogical disorder. Not much is known about causes although there are some theories out there. As far as I know there are no medications for it--if he also has ADHD there are meds for that. Aspergers is a milder form of the condition so it is possible that he can learn to function in society. Sorry, there is no cure for it.

Asperger is a type of autism. It can come in a variety of ranges with different symptoms, depending on the extent of his diagnosis. As far as medications go, there are certain medications that treat parts of the disease, but not the disease itself. A child with asperger can grow up to be "normal" depending on the effort put forth by himself and his family.

dont tell me that your brother is not "normal". he is YOUR brother, i have aspergers and i know what its like. you dont have to "fix" him. dont act like he isnt a person because he has this disability. you should treat him like a normal person. i know you want to protect him, but he just wants love like everyone else. dont be a dick. he will be fine. and there is no medication for aspergers. now that i have said that he will probably be youthinized. but just try to accept him.

My advice is: just love him. You don't need to "fix" who he is.
