Easy enough for little kids to make, this project doubles as a colorful decoration to drape around a Christmas tree or across a doorway. You'll need construction paper, a stapler, scissors, a pen and glitter markers (optional).

Cut out 25 strips of construction paper in various colors. To start, write something your family is thankful for on one strip. Staple it into a loop. Each day, add one link to the chain. On Christmas or another holiday, review your family's blessings before opening presents. You may want to count down to New Year's by recording special events of 1999 or resolutions for 2000.

Make them along w/ stringing popcorn and cranberries and you'll have an old fashioned tree in no time. And making them yourself will build memories and a tradition w/ those you make them with. And if you just make them yourself, but on the Christmas music and have fun!

I make them all the time with my younger cousins they love it. Just take green and red construction paper or any color actually and cut strips then you make loops with them and link them together
