I was told that if you heat up olive oil to a certain degree, it will become unhealthy. Is this true?

This is in regards to extra virgin olive oil.
I think the answer is that it becomes less healthy.
Extra virgin olive oil is touted to have loads of anti-oxidants.
The heat breaks down the anti-oxidants.

There are concerns that heating too high may increase Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), a carcinogen. I think the jury is still out on that one.

Hey, yeah. I heard that a long time in the past however I was once in no way particularly definite, so I attempted it out and yup it really works! It leaves your hair a bit of softer and shinier however ensure you simplest do it as soon as a month on the such a lot. What you have got to do; Wet your hair then rub threw a beneficiant quantity of olive oil and the quilt you shoulders in a towel (so you do not get protected in oil) after which go away it in for approximately part an hour then rinse it out and wash your hair once more with shampoo and conditioner, ensure you get all of it out despite the fact that.

olive oil isn't really "healthy" to begin with. it's certainly better than butter or other oils but if it's health you're looking for, you're in the wrong place!! but no, nothing changes the oil as you heat it up. there is a point (relatively low from what i've observed) that the oil will start to burn and you won't be able to cook in it (if you're trying to fry something in the oil)
