It's their society. The blood's on his hands, but if it's the way they live then his conviction would be the only thing that made it wrong.

The question is, does the government have more and different powers than the individual? I hold he position that the government does.

In order to uphold order, there are times that teh government must act violently. For example, a police officer arresting a criminal or, as in your example, a criminal being executed. If it is being done according to the law of the land, then it would be acceptable to the extent that the law does not violate God's law. God, after all, institutes governments (Romans 13).

In Saudi Arabia, the lines between religion and government are pretty blurry, but the principle is still the same. Howeve, it would be perfectly understandable if the individual invovled did not want to uphold that duty and resign his position. I personally could not be an executioner, and as such if it became a requirment of my job, I would resign.

It is a form of murder. But it also depends on what law you are going by. If you go by God's (Jehovah's) law then you are murdering. But if you go by some other religion or the governments law then you can say it is not murder. But in God's eyes it is still murder.

If the victim were a culprit under appropriate civil law, I have no great problem with an execution being done by a religious authority. But the gotcha is, of course, that a religious crime does not necessarily qualify as a civil one. A Muslim who abandons the religion is, under Muslim law, fair game for anyone who wants to kill him. (The fact that this cannot be reconciled with Qur'an 2:256 seems not to bother anyone.) Obviously, this cannot be reconciled with any sort of civil law.

Murder is murder but I suppose this is legal murder in a sense
but it is not a good thing
its never good to take a life
I don't agree with capital punishment
lock them up for life
but there is not enough prisons so they kill them

That's a matter of their government. They must decide how their house is run.

Now, in the USA, if some one killed another simply because they were gay, had sex with someone not their spouse, or had a different faith, the killer would be hunted down and tried. We believe that it's so far wrong, we have prisons especially made for them.

Best wishes.

To do murder is a bad thing, but to kill is not. The laws of each country are different, what would be murder in one may not be in another. God has said that if you murder that you should be put to death. So, God Himself, has sanctioned the death penalty.

It is a good thing - it is no different that if a man was a butcher. He doesn't murder animals - it is his job and he gets paid for it.

Murder lies in intent. If it is out of anger, etc it is murder. You could go hunting all the time and never be a murderer. But if you were just out there shooting every animal that you saw and leaving their corpses strewn about - you are a murder.

If you are at gas station and it gets robbed and you take the gun from the man and shoot him - you did not murder him.

It is murder, and we are all guilty. You end lives every time you step outside, wash your hands and body, swat a mosquito etc. But as for paid executioners that's one of the worse offenses in my book.

Murder is murder no matter how much you want to sugar coat it, even in terms of self defense. There is only One who has the right to decided when someone lives or dies. Many people argue that in matters of self defense, it's ok. It is never okay with God for one of His children to kill the other. So, if it is not okay even in matters of self defense, why would it be okay in "His name"?!? (For the record, murdering another human being in self defense is never okay with God because of original sin. In other words, we would not have to worry about it were it not for the original sin of disobeying God. However, He knows and understands that his children have to defend themselves and their families. Repentence through the Lord and by divine grace you will be forgiven.)

I am against the implementation of religious law. It doesn't bug me if religion is used as a form of guidance in making decisions in a civil court. However, see the influence of shari'a law in a country like Iran.
