Satan is a part of the Christian and Muslim religions.
Since pagans are neither Christian nor Muslim, Satan is not part of our deity structure at all.

We believe that each and every human being is completely responsible for his or her own actions.
To us, evil is a choice, albeit a bad one, that a human might make, not an embodied entity to blame our actions upon.

If an individual chooses to do evil, most pagans believe they will be punished via the laws of karma or as a result of "cause and effect.". In other words, "What goes around usually comes around."

What do you believe.. are you responsible for your actions or are you going to blame something else. ?

That is such a good point you are making. I am a Christian and people give Satan alot more credit than he deserves not only blaming him for the bad that they do but when God brings bad things upon them (which He does to all of us at times for our testing or cleansing or learning) they say Satan did it. It's sad because if they blame Satan they do not repent of their sins and they don't see God working in their life. They become their own worst enemy.

Who wrote these laws? Why would evil be punished if it's just a simple choice?
Some where, some one made a decision that if you to this, bad things will happen to you. And this term was generically called " evil". Satan is an example. So say that there is no Satan is to say that there are only good powers in the universe. That would mean that evil could not exists since it's has no foundation for its existence. With a thought or gesture, it would be wiped from the universe. It isn't because it does have a foundation to anchor itself to. One of the names of the evil, is Satan.

The illogical compulsion to do things that you know is wrong comes from there. It's a conflict like any other.

Best wishes.

I'm a Christian and I believe we are each responsible for our own actions. Actions result in consequences but not only on an earthly level. Actions have eternal consequences as well.

Satan is a very real being. He is roaming about the earth seeking whom he may devour. The only "entity" that has played a positive part in the big picture is God by sending his Son to be the sacrifice required to cover our sins and save us from the lies and the eternal death that following Satan offers.

Example: Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

So you are indeed correct in saying that we are each responsible for our own actions. We have the choice to believe in God & live forever or disbelieve and die eternally. No entity chooses for us. We choose for ourselves.

God or no God, I definitely believe in karma. Stuff alaways comes back and bites you in the butt. We are definitely responsible for our actions. I think that with Christianity, rather than it being the devil's work it is a result of free will that people do bad things. There is an argument that if God revealed himself we would have no choice but to believe in him and be good, but free will means we choose how to behave and whether to believe in God. Even Christians are responsible for how they act, even if they think they are doing God's work, doesn't mean that it is morally right to everybody.

I am responsible for my own actions and I take full responsibility for them. Karma is a large part of my beliefs, I really do think you gte back exactly what you give... negative begets negative and positive begets positive. I have seen it come true too many times not to believe in the transferrence of energy. People always get back exactly what they give because nature likes balance. If you give only negative energy away that creates imbalance within you and so to equal it out more negative energy is attracted right back to you. Thats why I never feel sorry for someone who always complains "why me? why do bad thing always happen to me?" the reason is you get what you give...

I believe that everyone is responsible for their own actions - I think that when people have commited "evil acts", crime or seemed to be "possessed by an evil" it is because it is due to lack of education, the way they were raised, or merely physiological.

In Islam every mature guy man/woman is responsible for his actions when he is fully alert and free, but the Satan and our bad wish and feelings are somethings we have to oppose.
So, every action is documented for you either in positive or negative manner.

You got something wrong, satan is not a deity, not demigod, he is just a fallen angel.
We are responsible for ourselves, and for the choices we make, and what we teach others (verbally and non-verbally), we have no one to blame but yourselves.
You reap what you sow.
