Put a piece of sandwich bread or a hot dog/hamburger bun on top of the brown sugar in an airtight container. The moisture from the bread will be absorbed by the sugar and it will be good to use again.

Dampen a paper towel or napkin and place it inside an airtight container with the sugar. Will be softened in no time.

After it hardens you can use a slice of apple. To avoid that it gets hard, keep a slice or 2 of bread in the container with the sugar.

i was always to Place a soft slice of bread in the box and seal the box tightly. In just a few hours, the brown sugar will be soft again.

Put it in a microwave dish and cover with cling film. Microwave on medium for about 1 minute. It worked for me!!

try to smash it in the bag and it should soften up. That always works for me.
