If you are the cause of your problems, then yes, you should do your best to try to fix them. However, you should also trust God to help you, guide you and strenghten you as you work through them and when you learn to trust God in the midst of your problems, you won't worry so much. I hope this makes sense.

Worry is sin.
Free will is probably something someone taught you as I know its not in the bible.
Its a good idea to be proactive in the things you can change or affect. Its a good idea to trust God for everything.
Do both. Dont worry, pray for and have faith in Gods intervention, and accomplish the things you can.

I don't think it's a sin to worry. I think it can be unhealthy if you worry constantly, but not a sin.
Here's how I think it works. You tell God your worries, and then you spend some quiet time just listening with your heart for what He has to say about them. Often, I find He gives me ideas of how I can fix the problem myself. The work comes from me, the idea comes from Him.
good luck.

I believe if you can change it do so, if it is something that is out of your control pray that God's will be done regarding that problem.
Pray for the knowledge to know the difference between what you can change and the things you can't. Also keep in mind that there is only one person you can ever change and that person is you. Acceptance of the others is the most you can hope for. Peace be with you.

The Bible says that Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand of Father God making intercession for us. It also says that we can go "boldly before the throne of God to make our petitions known."
God gives you the free will to take your problems to Him and leave them there.
Pretty sweet deal, no?

maybe you are realising what you already know ....
that despite your belief in God ( which i share )
that yes we are given free will ......
if something in your life needs fixing ... it isnt going to happen by itself
so just because you take control of your life , doesnt mean you have to give up believing in God
in my opinion actually .... you are begining to understand God more xx

Yes we have to place our trust in God and turn to Him in confidence humbly seeking His help but we are expected to live our life doing our best to rectify our mistakes and not use God as our slave.
