Bearshare is a file sharing program. It doesn't give viruses, but it comes with an adware package called zango, which gives lots of advertisments. The latest version of bearshare 6.0.2.25318 turns out to be crap!

All file sharing programs have the potential to spread viruses and spyware, you are trusting a file on someone else computer to be what ever file it claims to be. The file you download that you thought was "a cool song.mp3" could just as easily be "my virus to make your PC into a zombie spam bot.exe"
