Leave this message on her phone: "Hi. This is_(insert name)_. On __(insert day of week you want to take her out)_, please put on that little black dress that you know I love and be ready to go out at _(insert time)_. I will pick you up and spend the evening making you realise that you have been friends with the perfect guy for you. At the end of the evening I will probably try to kiss you, but hopefully you will have had such a great time that you'll want me to kiss you and take you out on more dates. By the way, I hope you know that I think you are beautiful, and wonderful, and terribly attractive in every way. Also, there is no backing out on this date because I'm still your friend and so you have to go. Bye Sweety (or other term of affection)."
Good Luck

Sweetie, go for the gold. Ask her out yourself, be yourself. If you've been talking this long, then you probably know each other pretty well. Take it slow, don't rush into things, make sure that you are comfortable with each other. Being one on one will be different then with other people around. Ask her, and if she says no, well, I'm sure that you've been told no before, right?

Well, you can always ask her how she feels about going on a date. If she is up for it then you know you are safe.Talk to a friend who knows her as well and ask her to ask your friend what she would do should you ask her out for a date, heyy i think that suggestion is better. Good luck:))

at least you have been friends for 4 years not like my gf, i worked with her for 6months as her senior and she arranged my leaving do, i didnt want to go but i did, we was playing around and having a laff when her gf went to the toilet and she then just snogged me out the blue!!!
so please dont do that to her it will scare her away!!!
i think u should tell her how u feel about her and then ask how she would feel dating u!!!!!

Joke around about it first. Be like wow... we've been friends for soo long it's like we're practically dating and see how she reacts.

send out some signals, then just tell her how you feel. you might have to resign youself of the fact that she wants to stay as you are, but could you cope with that, and try to get over it.

Pick a movie, or gigg, or something you fancy going to. Tell her you are going to it, as part of conversation, keep it casual, and ask if she fancies going too.

if you have already started flirting then it wouldn't be so hard.
just ask her casually ~ she probably already likes you because you've been friends for a year.
