It depends on the cat, ...they are so like us it is funny to watch them. I used to have a gorgeous ginger female cat that never really grew up and she used to catch butterflies and moths and bring them home, I always felt simply for enjoyment as she never ate them. But used to get so frustrated when she had killed it and it stopped fluttering and flying around. To the cat it was as if a playmate had walked out in the middle of a game. She would repeatedly try and get it to move again and then go away and sulk.
Tragic.

That is one of the natural things that cats do. They are natural hunters. They have the natural instinct to chase something whether it being a moving string, ball, or its owners playful finger, they enjoy swatting at it. With birds, they are not only playful at the site of something flying around, it becomes a joyful snack to them as well. They are this way with mice too.

Cats are natural hunters, and they enjoy stalking prey. The cat my nieghbor had would bring home lizards, snakes, mice, and anything else it could catch. It seems they want you to know that they are on the job and all is well.

I used to think it's a present but I'm not so sure now, my cat won't let me go near the birds to take them outside, I think she just wants to eat them and play with them in the comfort of her own home.

my mum was having a rummage looking for a coat when all of a sudden, a bird flew out into her hair.
