I love my job and it's not very stressful, but during the work week I find myself having to do things really fast and I'm always anxious. I'm not that way outside of work. I don't want to take any medication for this anxiety, so what alternatives are there? I exercise frequently but my diet is poor. Any recommendations on how to limit the anxiety in my life?

You definitely need to learn some relaxation techniques, and meditation is a wonderful habit to acquire. I took a meditation class when I was going through a particularly stressful period in my life and it really helped me.

In addition, you need to pay attention to what you eat. I know you know this, but what you eat is fuel for your body. Good nutrition is essential for your physical and mental health. You know what the good things to eat are. This isn't to say you can't treat yourself sometimes. It just means you need to eat plenty of the right things and it will make a big difference in your life along with meditation.

Try the suggestions. They really WILL work!

Start eating better - get a good nights full sleep and drink a lot of water -- I was going through the same thing but I did the above and worked out -- I also spend more time out side - i noticed myself becoming more relaxed and calm - even right now - which is finals week!! I feel SO much better -- most of it is controlled by your thinking...try to uncover why you are making yourself anxious....also start paying attention to when you start to feel that way - then try to change your attitude or redirect yourself -- I don't think you need to take medication - I think you just need to breathe and slow down -- just breathing alone makes a huge difference...

good luck!

find a morning meditation technique aimed at what you intend to do for the day and then an afternoon meditation technique aimed at relieving stress.
