When a guy says he would love you if he was single what does it mean?
i was dating a guy for a while we both were very physically attracted to one another and things broke up as i was upset about my job etc a little needy at the time...he always stares at me when we are out and the other day i apoligised to him and he said i was one of the most lovely people he had met and that initially he was intimidated by my job ( i have quite a high powered job and earn good money) he also said he thought i was gorgeous back then and still does, i said i was leaving and he kept on grabbing me and said he would love me...if he was single..When i chatted about one of my ex boyfriends he got jealous and said 'what about us?'. He has only just started to date someone else..i have always been infatuated with him and vice versa..what should i do should i ask him for a drink as friends, i think he could of beena potential one

You should stay with your ex. If he's got a girl let him stay with her. BUT, if he dumps her to be with you than he likes you a lot and go with him.

Sorry, I'm NOT a guy, but I do know this.....having been there, done it....if a guy tells you he loves you, he LOVES YOU, period!! If here were single? Huh? What a cop out! I haven't heard it put quite that way before!!! But a guy's gonna tell you what a guy wants you to know! I'm telling you the truth, and the truth hurts, damn it, over and over for the rest of MY life and yours, too!! He doesn't love you or he'd love you regardless of whether or not he's single!!!
But it DOES sound like, well, this at least USED to be one of my favorite little expressions....honey, LAY DOWN, I THINK I LOVE YOU!!! At least, physically, and for now!!!
That's the truth, and naturally if you don't want to read the truth, know it, deal with it, prefer other answers to actually fit what you WANT to hear (read), I'm sure someone will give you what you want. But the truth is always the truth and it always outs.
I know, I used to be a prolific prevaricator...(or for my male friend who STILL doesn't believe me after over 3 years of this CRAP!! So he understands me...I used to LIE LIE LIE and I did it ALL THE TIME, TOO!!! For different reasons than why my male friend does it. But growing up abused doesn't mean I could continue lying all my life so I made a very conscious effort to STOP lying many years ago. I'm just telling you because it takes one to know one & I can spot them a million miles away! Even over the internet!!)

You have a "high powered" job and earn "good" money? And you can't spell or write a gramatically correct sentence and you want to know what "he would love you if he was single" means?
Is this job at McDonald's and does it involve fries and hot apple pies?
If the guy is already involved with someone else then he is CHEATING on his girlfriend by having these kinds of conversations with you.
Here's a word of advice: GET YOUR OWN MAN. And stop lying to yourself and others.

Do you want this guy, or not? It sounds to me like he would give up his current relationship for you, but he's not going to throw it away if you keep him guessing. Tell him you're his, or tell him to move on.

he isnot interested in being a REAL friend. he wants you but he is seeing someone. please notice that he does not like you enough to leave the other girl. follow me now.... i am willing to bet that he would be willing to see you on the side... ;-). would you want to be with someone who tells other women that he would love THEM if he was single? do not waste your time.
