Most puppy shampoos are meant for puppies over 8 weeks old. How old is this puppy?

You'll need to consult a vet about safe treatments for young pups and nursing mothers.

In addition you'll need to also spray the house as well. Use something with an Insect Growth Regulator or you'll have fleas again in 2 weeks. Ask the vet to recommend a good one.

In order to really answer your question, there would need to be more information. How old is the puppy? Is it a lot of fleas, or just a couple?

Your best bet is to call a vet. They can let you know the safest way to get fleas off a pup.

the fleas lay hundreds of eggs. so even though you think you get them all you wont. is the puppy longhaired. because if it is then it will probaly need to go to the vet and get the applications that you put on the back of the neck and see if that doesnt work. also rememeber that is really important that you let the vet know the age of the puppy. he might suggest somethng else. and also you can call your vet office and ask the vets aide she or he will be able to answer your questions and concerns.

One product is very nice, the name is Front line plus. I have two dogs and I use this product if they have flea. Usually one apply will cure. But I am not sure if this product can't be used on puppy or not. Better ask vet about it.

You might want to check with your vet.
The mother & pup may need to be treated with
a medicine that is absorbed through thes skin such as
Frontline flea and tick control.
It's usually neccessary to have them weighed
before giving the medication.

Well I wouldnt seperate them. Just try to wash the pup(s) but if he or she doesnt like it then make him or her swim in a tiny( baby sise ) swimming pool with dog shampoo!
