She calls it the third stage of puberty. My daughter wants this to come soon - she's tired of waiting, god love her. Are there any symptoms, besides the obvious, that we might know it's coming? It's been 35 years for me, so I don't remember anymore.

Stomach aches - mood swings - I guess the mood swings are normal for pre-teenas. LOL

Symptoms... well.... I guess if she has started growing pubic hair and her breast developing would be the only outward signs. Even when she does get her period soon she would probably get it every few months until she is older and her cycle levels out. Good luck, things are going to go crazy from here on out!

Obviously, you've had the talk - good for you. My wife was horrified she was bleeding, told her mom, mom said you're a woman now and told her to stuff her undies with toilet paper. That was it.

With our girls, we had the talk well before they started. We had the appropriate necessities on hand and my wife explained how to use them.

When the day came, each of the girls told us excitedly and were treated to a "grown up" dinner at a nice restaurant.
