after reading further in John 6 we understand only the true believers of Christ stay with him all the others who do not accept the Lord's teaching of his real body and blood, soul and divinity literally in the communion leave Jesus and follow him no longer.

Carl if it was mere symbolism why doesn't Jesus just say to those leaving "Hey guys am not being literal it is just symbolism" No Jesus doesn't do that he goes on to repeat himself extremely literally and says "my flesh is food INDEED and my blood is drink INDEED". My investigation of the Greek original text uses the word trogon for eat which translates 'to gnaw' to chew how less literal is that?

Destiny makes a point about Jewish custom however her extrapolation of the text not being literal is incorrect simply beause the followers who leave Do take the Lord Jesus literally that is the cause of them leaving.
If you argue this is impossible using the idea of cannibalism in the traditional sense you negate the reality of Jesus being of the supernatural for we know in the resurrection Jesus overcomes death he lives because he is eternal. Eating of Jesus would not kill him and truly cannot be classified as cannabolism as Destiny would like to believe simply because cannabolism of you and me will kill us but not Christ.
People today don't learn philosophy and the teaching of cause and accident if they would this teaching of Real Presence would not as big an issue and less people would being following the way of those who left Christ and rejected the Eucharist.
Once again if this text is not literal why do followers of Christ leave him??? Instead of convoluted answers w

those human beings might desire to study that KJV that they love lots! it form of feels that they provide the effect of being to have a technique or the different misinterpreted the Shakespearian grammar. heavily although, there are 2 camps of KJV human beings: One is the traditionalist who loves it because of fact there's a sentimental tie to it and the conviction that it relatively is a holier language (ever observed how they slip into KJV talk whilst they pray?), and secondly there is the coed who appreciates the literalism of the KJV. the coed who's somewhat spiritually minded could be against the NIV because of fact lots of its translators are liberals and because they used a device of textual criticism which certainly says that there are ameliorations of meaning in historical manuscripts (it relatively is why your NIV skill that maximum early manuscripts have not got the final element of Mark). i like the KJV's accuracy and poetry, yet additionally like the easy English of the NIV. If I have been interpreting a definite passage i might check out the two and then refer the the substantial Greek words, tenses etc. are you able to believe the NIV? with the help of improve confident, besides the shown fact that it relatively is often stable to determine the KJV, and the hot KJV for clarification.

Child John 6:51 explains that Jesus is the bread that he will give for the life of the world.
People often take out of text. It simply means that Jesus is the bread and belief in him as savior, dying on the cross, relieves your sins through belief - faith - love.
When studying the bible for knowledge first pray for and open mind, understanding. if you still have questions simply ask for help like here.

Communion seems to be like Babtism, once you have done it, there is no need to repeat it, unless you fall away from what Jesus teaches. It isn't hard to do after you have done it once you know. The problem seems to be many never do anything Jesus teaches so of course they fall away. Isn't that the fault of preachers who should know that what Jesus teaches is doable?

I'm wondering the same thing. Especially since revelation is written in an apocolyptic style (which is not meant to be taken literally)

Jesus was speaking in symbolisms. Unfortunately for many of Jesus' early disciples, they left him before he could explain to them what he meant.
