Am I alone in being concerned that Christian leadership is???

Question

worried about conduct of people outside the church and inside not so much.

Gay's who want marriage outside yet and amendment???
people on TV and radio, outside the church yet censorship ??,

Inside the church gossip runs rampant,

Inside the church whisperers railers, leadership who is not held accountable, don't hear or see much about these from the church, a little once in a while, and I know lotsa good people not doing all these but where are our priorities
Come out from among them?? does that mean change them??
are you concerned and if so what are you doing about it ??

Bet I get very few christians replying and several atheists

I think you probably get a lot of anti-Christian answers because these are people who love to see anything that would appear to shame/bring down the Christian Faith. But you are right. The gossiping is one thing that really bothers me. (Among some, not all) How often are we told not to gossip in scripture? Repeatedly! I think if more Christians would really make an effort to live as Christ wants, this would dramatically strengthen churches, not weaken them at all. Amen to your question.

I'm neither Christian nor Atheist. lol *wink* But you are right. And if they actually read the New Test as often as some like to claim, they would know that they are supposed to judge those WITHIN and leave the one's outside for God to judge. But, of course, the religion has gone mainstream and is more about what makes them feel good, rather than actually following the book they claim is God's.

Obviously you've never been in a church membership, deacons or elders meeting or you wouldn't ask this question. Christians are concerned about what goes on inside & out. I know many, many Christians whom I've never heard any gossip from their lips. I also know personally cases where people have had to step down from leadership due to their actions. Peace :-)

I reply to lots of things. The actions of priests/etc. should be recognized as acts that anyone else would commit - it's just funnier to the rest of us because they publicly lecture on the "immorality" of their own ways, yet they do nothing to stop it.

I mean, who wouldn't be shocked to hear about the guy who was the head of one of the biggest Christian organizations is seeking out gay escorts and purchasing drugs?

I just think it's ironic, that's all.

Do you attend a church? Does your church have these problems?
If so leave it. Leave quietly and dont ask others to leave with you. Look for a non-denominational church that preaches the Word. These are the churches, these days that are experiencing explosive growth.
Finally, pray for those who have lost their way and gotten tangled up in the problems that you mention.

Each person, including ministers battle against their natural self. The church is a place for the "broken" to be corrected. Unfortunately, sometimes ministers and priests neglect to teach about sin, what it is, and how to avoid it, and why it is important that you do so.

agnostic - i agree. the bible says do not worry about the speck in your neighbors eye but the plank in your own. the chuch should be more worried about the hypocrites and those who make christians look bad, then those who arent christians that arent even affecting the christians.
