I owe a credit card company from 10 years ago and i cannot find there number

It doesn't make any sense to contact a bank/credit card from over 10 years ago. For most states, this is well over the statutes of limitation for the debt collection. For a list of statutes of limitation for debt, check out this website:

Simply put, for most states in the union, you don't owe them a dime.

But to answer your question, most likely the credit card was purchased by another financial institution during the late 90's or early 2000's and is now under a different name.

It's no longer on your credit report. Leave it alone.
