In German, the Russian city of Vladivostok is spelt Wladiviostok, because in German w is pronounced like English v

To help Darren j, because i studied Polish for 1 year WLOSZCZOWA is pronounced Vlosh-chova

There seem to be two places in Poland - WLOCLAWEK and WLOSZCZOWA. The first is probably pronounced Vlotch-la-vek. Don't ask me to pronounce the 2nd one though!!
