should so many people praying for you, do you think it will help you to get what they ask for you or will God hear it more. What is the point of that action?

It is difficult to understand prayer. God says that we should pray for one another. And evidently it is pleasing to God and He answers prayer.

James 5:13-18

13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

17 Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
(from New International Version)

Each person gets a "vote" with the universe. It is activated by prayer or intention. Some people's will is more aligned with God's will than others so they seem to have more prayers answered. Additional people praying adds more "weight" to the prayer. By the way, God has three answers to prayer: yes, I'm work on it and it will take a little time, or I have something better to offer. My understanding of the nature of God is goodness personified. God desires to offer that which is good.

Scripture says "The prayers of a righteous man availeth much" How many times was the Lord ready to just wipe out the Israelites but he didn't because Moses or Joshua or David or somebody kept staying his hand? Other peoples prayers are important. What I don't understand is why people think our prayers here on Earth done by sinful people mean more than the Saints prayers in Heaven who have already been through everything and can really intercede for us but, instead they spout "There is only one mediator .... " but, in the next breath they ask other people here to pray for them. That's what I don't get.

Prayers by others are only good if they are done out of good-will and good-faith. The point is you have others petitioning for you through Jesus Christ.

id like to see some statistics that prove that people who pray have a higher probability of getting what they prayed for then those who didnt pray but hoped instead.

The Bible says that whenever two or more come together in my name, there I am.
That's the purpose and point of this action.

Peace.

Yeah, I generally find trying to actually work out my problems is more effective than talking to the ceiling.
