The deciding factor of one's eternal destination, whether they live to be part of the crowd who doesn't taste death or those who are resurrected from the dead to be with the Lord is this: Did they walk in all the truth they knew? Did they reject the truth of Jesus priesthood and sacrifice? Are their hands clean of blood-guiltiness? Are all their sins washed underneath the blood of Jesus? Did they keep the commandments to love God and man?
No offense to Catholic friends to say they are Catholic, not Protestant. They practice idolatry bowing down to images and praying to Mary and dead "saints" as god status and equal to and above the priesthood office of Jesus Christ. Also, they claim priests are mediators between God and man and Jesus is the only mediator between God and man and that the unleavened bread and wine of the passover physically become the blood and body of Jesus when the priests bless it. (yet folks will admit it doesn't taste like that) No offense Catholic friends. My view on scriptures.

I can tell you what LDS believe:

(in a nut shell)
We don't necessarily believe Jesus is going to "take everyone up"...we believe at his coming, those who are not living at least a Terrestrial life style will be "gone" or "consumed by fire" or whatever... what that exactly means, i don't know. Then the righteous will live in the millenium for the thousand years of peace, Satan will be bound for those thousand years unable to tempt anyone, then he wil be loosed again for a time, then bound forever. The judgement will occur and everyone will "go" to the Kingdom of Glory they have attained.

If you believe that there are those in Heaven now, in line with the apocrypha, and Jesus word to the man on the other cross, then you may realize that the millenial kingdom or communion of saints exists currently in heaven.

Therefore, I do not believe that anyone will escape death, save those exceptional few who are taken up for God loved them so (think Enoch as opposed to your entire congregation), and will be about the way of man, that they die and go to Heaven.

They throw a big party now that all those annoying Christians are gone. (Just kidding! I'm a Christian so I'm allowed to joke about us.)

BTW... where'd you get the idea Catholics don't take Jesus as their savior??

It is said that When the Savior (Jesus) comes to the earth, He takes the dead people's soul first, then he separates the soul and the body from the live people and takes them. Then he will take the people ( at the spot, like hindhus, muslims) who belives that he is the true God. The rest goes to hell.

Yeah, uh, Catholics and Mormons are, in fact, under the umbrella of Christianity.

And, of course, that would all never happen. But anyway...
