Well, I'm assuming that this is with a girl or guy (depending on what you are lol)? So just find out (through friends or just by looking at them) what they like, and talk about that. Example- they are carrying a Star Wars Three book- ask them what they like about it. Or say they have a certain brand of clothes- ask about it. Most people LOVE to talk about themselves. Good luck.

Just be yourself. Don't sit and try to think of what you SHOULD say, just start talking to her. After all, what do you have to loose? The worse thing she could do is brush you off, and you will never know until you try. Just say, "hey,how was your day?", and go from there.
