Science when you relate it to young children is very difficult, I really feel for you on this one. Your best bet is to try and take the simpler, more "basic" ideas like "how things work" sort of subjects.

Try looking into old "Mr. Wizard" and "Bill Nigh the Science Guy" shows or information... Even some of the "how do things work" types of books could be great for putting together some really good ideas here.
