I think the word "demand" is too harsh. Gifts should be given from the heart. Maybe your mother can't afford to give you more or possibly, you really don't need any more things (like me). I lost my mother when I was 17. I wish I had a mother I could call up now and then just to say "hi" or maybe go shopping together and meet for lunch. I will never have that again so I have no one in my life I can "demand" to get more Christmas presents from.

You're 39 buddy and she is providing you room and board most likely for free so stop being a big baby. Your mom shouldn't be having a conversation with a spoiled 5 year old child. Where if you whine enough you'll get what you want. Be mature about it. Mom says minimal present this year say ok. You want something give something in return, buy her lots of gifts and she'll be inclined to buy your more the next time around. That is if you even buy your mother a gift, probably not. seriously I am not trying to insult you but you're being childish.

The best way to get what you want from someone might be subtle, "Gee ,I've really got to find the best way to...(maybe) -what do you think". You know, the respectful approach.
Another suggestion is be kind, be grateful, don't be greedy, and don't EVER DEMAND anything, -except the same behavior in return.

FIRST OFF YOUR 39 AND LIVING AT HOME IF I WERE YOUR MOTHER ID KICK YOUR SORRY --- OUT AND FORCE YOU TO BECAME A MAN AND GET A JOB!
SECONDLY YOU ARE A VERY SELFISH SELF CENTERED S. O. B.,WHICH DOESN'T STAND FOR SWELL OLD BOY.
YOU SHOULDN'T TRY TO FORCE ANYONE TO BUY YOU A GIFT, ITS THE CHOICE OF THE OTHER PERSON, IF THEY WANT TO GET YOU SOMETHING OR NOT.
YOU DON'T DESERVE ANYTHING.
YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH WHAT YOUR GONNA DO FOR YOUR MOTHER FOR PUTTING UP WITH YOUR ----.
ANYWAY XMAS ISN'T ABOUT PRESENTS ITS ABOUT GIVING
SHARING OF YOURSELF WITH OTHERS.
FAMILY,AND FRIENDS IS WHAT IS IMPORT AND.

39! u shouldnt be demanding gifts at that age or any age..be thankfull for what u have and not totally on what ur getting...seeing that u are selfish to be asking for more at this age from ur mother....!

39, sheesh if I was your mum I would DEMAND you move out, come on, you are not being fair. How about you do something for your mum to show your appreciation of her supporting you for 39years.
