I had a miscarriage and didnt get a d&c... I just miscarried and bled out for a week or better. It was so early on, i didnt even realize I was pregnant until after.

Anyway, so i have no idea.

I seems a bit much to go 4-6 weeks with no sex, and 4 weeks of no activity... but if thats what they say, better go with it.

Here's my experience...
I also had a missed miscarriage and had a D&C 9 days ago. I was only about 6 weeks along, so that might explain the difference in our doctors' orders.
I lightly spotted for 6 days following the procedure. I had a little bit of cramping the day after, but nothing after that and never had to take any pain medication. My doctor told me not to have intercourse for 1-2 weeks and when I could have intercourse depended on how I felt and if I was still bleeding. When I asked him how long I would need to take off work, he actually turned around and asked me, "Well, how much time do you want?" and signed a note for two weeks off work. I was never told to take it easy for a certain amount of time, but started my regular routine as soon as I started feeling better.
I have my follow-up appointment next Tuesday; hopefully all goes well. I started working out at the gym again and my husband and I actually had sex 6 days after my D&C. I wasn't bleeding and I felt great.....and my doctor told me 1-2 weeks. We almost made it a week!
But anyway, I'm sorry for your loss! I know what you're going through and I can tell you that it will get better. I hope your recovery goes well and wish you the best of luck!

I have had about 30 laparoscopies and d & c's done. I would usually have mine on a friday and be back at work on monday. Yeah, it got old after a while and body started getting tired and i developed a lot of scar tissue because i didn't let myself heal properly after my surgeries. I would follow your doctor's advice. You can still do activities before the 4 weeks is up, but I would limit them. I wouldn't do any heavy lifting at all and just take it easy. You can do light housework, etc, that sort of thing, but take breaks, and take it easy on yourself. As for intercourse, yes, I didn't wait the full 6 weeks, after any of my surgeries. I usually gave it about 3-4 weeks and never had any problems with it. Its usually best though to wait until after you have one normal menstrual cycle (don't count this as a period) before you engage in intercourse.

Like I stated, I had surgeries on Fridays, and I was up doing laundry and house cleaning on saturday and this was AFTER surgery, not just a d & c, I had laparascopies, with stitches, etc. As long as you don't over do yourself, you can resume your normal activities, except for as I stated above, heavy lifting or bending, stretching, those sorts of things.

Good luck.
