It just takes longer to notice the beauty in a person who doesn't have obvious physical attractiveness. It is easy to appreciate physical beauty, but many times it just falls flat once the guy opens his mouth. It doesn't matter how hot someone is; if he has no personality, it's over! I'd say that the slow burn of a not-so-physically attractive person with a great personality would lead to a stronger and deeper love than one could have with someone who has only looks going for him. (Of course, if he has both, that is not bad either, although, in a way, it is more worrying, because such a perfect specimen would awaken every insecurity that I have...it is a delicate balance!) However, this question is moot for me anyway, as I already have my mate and have for 15 years. (Incidentally, I wouldn't have looked twice at him in the beginning had he not been extremely intelligent, somewhat bizarre and very creative.)

Generally when one person falls in love with another ,,,, It's with the person inside and not the outer exterior ,,,, A person is very shallow minded if he looks only at what meets the eye ,,,, I feel sorry for these kind of people ,,,, They will attach themselves to some one that is pleasing to look at but hell to live with ,,,, These beauty seekers definitely need to grow up ,,,, Ever hear the expression that you can't judge a book by it cover ?? ,,,,

I don't think its the outside that matters, but 99.9% of the public is obsessed with being with someone "hot" or "beautiful". I am not particularly attractive and have found that no matter how GREAT my personality is guys still go for the brain dead with the great body. Even the so called "unattractive"guys want the trophy woman....so I guess the answer would be no?

I think definitely. Unless you're a very shallow person, appreciating someone's beautiful personality will usually make you perceive them as better-looking anyway, because looking at them will be infused with your affection for them. Whereas if someone is hot, but boring or mean, they get annoying really quickly and even their face can't save them. Plus, at some point they will get old, and then they will be ugly and boring and mean, whereas the person with the beautiful personality will just get more and more beautiful as you discover more about them.

Speaking as as ugly guy, as I really don't think of myself as good looking, I've had lots of ladies go for me. So I guess anything is indeed possible. Also one should always remember to never ever judge a book by its cover, as I myself have seen lots of otherwise plain looking ladies I would have loved to go out with. For me, it's not always what I see on the outside, but I see in their eyes.

In the end I would have to say ..well for me atleast personality trumps beauty....I mean what if you marry the sexiest man on earth and he becomes disfigured..would you leave him then..?
now a small package that he can't even work with...thats another tale..

yes. It's easy to fix someone's appearance, shows do it all the time. You can't "fix" someone's personality, you just have to hope that they want to change.
Of course, with this said, my husband is hot, so maybe i'm a hypocrite

yes, my ex boyfriend, has a wonderful personality but has kind of a ugly apperance, and yet I fell in love with him and I am falling in love with him again.
