Me and my boyfriend are in a long distant relationship, been going since August, but have known him for over a year. When I go down to see him, I go alone, when he comes up to visit me, he has to stay in a hotel cuz my parents won't let him sleep here, anyway, he always brings a friend with him. Do you think this is odd, or am I reading too much into it?!!!

No, it's odd. If it's a female friend it's really odd. If he is coming to see you, why bring a friend, unless you're usually busy and can't spend too much time with him.

Have you asked him why he brings a friend. On one end it could be because if he brings a friend it looks alot less like he's getting a hotel for you and him. If a friend is always there then there will be alot less alone time. Maybe he gets bored when you aren't around. Flip side could be he's not that into you and he wants a friend to use as an excuse for why he can't see you all the time while he's in town. I'd ask him if I were you.

Not odd at all... I think your parents are odd. You 2 should be hanging out and then hanging in the house and he should be able to sleep on the couch while you go up to your room.. Your parents are way to persnikity

He spending time and money to come see you. You should be grateful for that. If I were him, I would be asking your MOM and DAD if I could pitch a tent in the back-yard... Why is this young man not speaking and establishing friendship with your parents? If he befriended your parents and your parents seen he was a respectful person they would probably allow him to sleep on the couch.. I was always allowed to stay on the couch.

How far away is he coming from...and is he driving? If it's a few hours away...I could see him wanting company in the car.

He also might want to share expenses with someone?

Doesn't like sleeping alone in the hotel room?

is afraid of the dark?

I don't know..... why don't you ask him?
If it's bothering you... it's a simple question..and the answer may be something obvious you never thought of.

Is the person he brings a woman?

It sounds kind of odd, but maybe he doesn't like to make the drive alone or stay alone in a hotel-i know i would want company. Talk to him about it-I dont think its too much of a big deal...

Please tell me that you have asked him this question including the rest of us? Why keep guessing when you can have the answer in seconds? I know you may not like what you are going to hear, but at least your question will be resolved.

I personally think he's afraid of getting too close so he makes room for plan B (having his buddy there).
Remember your worth, don't settle for second best, get what you want from your relationships. If he can't meet you half-way then he shouldn't meet you at all.

I have done this too. See, for guys, this is a road trip. Being that he cannot stay with you, it makes more sense to us to bring a buddy and have a good time when he is not with you.

It is an opportunity for us to party with someone, when you girls are not around. That, and I'm sure he is spliting the gas money with the buddy too.
