I have the original razr and im tryin 2 use the software for it on my laptop?

why isnt it detecting my phone?? im using a cable... and its on and connected properly!!

my cable is workin cuz it works with my camera too1

All you need to do is open the Motorola Phone tools and it will tell you when to connect your phone if it is plugged in too soon it won't see it. If that doesn't work then check to make sure your usb is enabled if it is you might just have a bad cable. I have the same phone it works great with phone tools.

It only works if you have a long cable. I tried it with the short one then I went to cingular and asked them why. the lady was rude and told me "becuz".
