What exactly do you wish to save? Programs or files? Programs will need to reinstalled if you are going to reformat your computer, as to files the best thing is to save them to cd, dvd, flash drive, zip drive, depending on how many you have and the size. You could also zip similiar files together to save some space while saving like photos or music.

IF U HAVE TO REINSTAL YOUR WINDOES YOU HAVE TO REINSTAL ALL YOUR PROGRAMS ,CAUSE EACH PROGRAM INSERT SOME INFORMATION INTO WINDOWS REGISTERY,ABOUT OTHER FILES U CAN COPY THEM IN OTHER DRIVES IF U DONT WANT TO FDISK(CHANGE YOUR DRIVES SIZE) ALSO IF YOU HAVE A CD OR DVD WRITER YOU CAN BURN YOUR FILES .YOU HAVE TO COPY ONLY FILES IN YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM DRIVE OTHER DRIVES WILL NOT CHANGE IF YOU DONT WANT TO FDISK.
