No parrots are not from Hawaii. They were imported by sailors who came to the islands, and reside today as someone's pet. All the birds and plants that are in Hawaii now, were imported including the coconut tree. The first Hawaiians brought pigs, dogs, taro root and breadfruit. The pineapple came from the Philippines. Hawaii has a very sensitive ecosystem and some forms of birds, mammals and reptiles are not allowed for import. Snakes are not allowed for example, at all, and are immediately destroyed. Hawaii has strict importation rules, but it is to protect the very special species they do have.

Parrotts are not indigenous to Hawai'i. They were brought there by people, and thrive in the wild.

If there is a parrot free in the wild... It is someone's escaped pet.

there are many parrots in hawaii, but they are not originally from hawaii. they are from australia, central america, and south america.

I didn't see any while I was on the island of Kauai. Plenty of wild chickens though!!!
