its beacuse your mind get used to the distance in the journey out, and your mind sees the surrounding environment on the journey out, so in your journey home you dont feel the distance and the time

Skyhigh is right, made the New York to Frankfurt run 3 hours ahead of schedule one time. Pilot said there was 600 MPH tail wind.

Well to me when u r flyin out i am always more anxcious (sorry bout spelling) just because u dont know what lies ahead but coming home u know whats there and u know the surroundings and ur lovely comfy bed is there hahahahaha

good question,, I think its cause you are more relaxed so don't notice the time as much so it seems quicker


Or if it is actual time, it might be a different route taken or a wind behind you which is helping you along

thats funny that you think time just shrinks on its own!!!............tail winds always are faster in the winter so flights west to east usually always take less time even if its scheduled 8 hours.
