as a muslim i believe that jesus will come back to the earth to stop someone called ( elmessiah eldagal) the one who will try to make people think he is jesus
and then jesus will guide people again to god

Most would say Mahdi is just a title for Muhammad.
The Mahdi, according to majority Sunni and Shi'ite tradition, will arise at some point before the day of judgement, institute a kingdom of justice, and will in the last days fight alongside the returned Islamic prophet Jesus against the Dajjal (Antichrist or false Messiah).
The bible was made to guide the Jews so when it did not mention Arabs directly they took it upon themselves to create their own messiah (muhammad) and elevate him to Jesus status (or lowering Jesus to Muhammad's status according to Muslims).

There was a Mahdi who appeared in the Sudan in the early 20th century; he successfully beat the British under General Gordon..see the Movie Khartoum with Charlton Heston.
The Mahdi's mission was to convert the whole world to Islam but he was defeated by another British General and died of sun stroke in the desert.

You have the right to believe that Jesus said "...come to the father except through me...." fine, we are not joking about this. Can't you show some respect for our beliefs too? Mohammed al-Mahdi is a descendant of Prophet Mohammed, from the only daughter who had children. He is one of the Prophet's great, great....grandsons. You have the right to laugh at us, in private, but at least not use the term "the heck"...you people hate respect or what?

The Mahdi is the Muslim Messiah, more or less. He is NOT God or thought to be god, but just a man who is chosen to do God's will (like Moses, Abraham, etc.) And the Muslims certainly don't think of him as a 'tag-along': they reguard Jesus as another of the prophets, but not God (they think he did not say he was God while living, and others spread this story about him after he left...)

Imam Mehdi will be a very pious person who will appear at the time of anti-christ and will fight with him..when peoples will be living a miserable life because of anti-christ.At the same time Jesus(pbuh) will appear and he will then kill anti-christ.He is not a prophet or messenger He would be a muslim who will come forward for the help of people..Btw few peoples have different view about it.... Its not given in our Quran but told By prophet Muhammad(pbuh) as a doomsday prophesy
