A measuring cup of granulated sugar weighs a little over 7 ounces or 200 grams. A pound of sugar is right around 2-1/4 cups.

It would be about 5.25 oz to .75 cup
or .7 cup to 5 ounces

5 oz of cocai, er......I mean "sugar" is approximately 0.75 of a cup or in culinary terms 2/3 of a cup would be more accurate.

5 ounces equals 0.625 cups
if you want 0.75 cups you would need 6 ounces.

A standard "cup" in the a cookbook is 8oz of volume, so 5 oz woudl be .625 cups.
Don't get confused and start going down the path of weighing things -- US cookbooks and recipies are always in VOLUME not weight (not the case in europe).
