As we all known religion is a very contraversial subject. A lot of people don't want to consider they might be wrong, I know I don't have all the answers (no one does) and as such I'm open to the possibility I could be wrong. (I'm atheist by the way).

Lots of people use religion as a crutch to help them through difficult times or to have something to look forward to after life.

So my question is this: if your beliefs could be proven wrong without a shadow of a doubt, would you want to know?

If you walk through life believing, and come to find out there wasn't a God what have you lost, BUT if you walk through life believing that there is no God and then come to find out that there is what have you lost?

The truth is within each of us, some have absolute proof some just have faith, either way it should not bring anyone down or annoy anyone to have faith in something that is based on good and not evil. Positive is always better than negative no matter what you believe in.

Does Lebron James want some competition?

I'm always looking for a counter-argument, but yahoo chat went under.

If you don't mind, you are speaking in an english-essay kind of way, so I take it as my responsibility to critique you just a bit.

You said, "I know I don't have all the answers" and then back it up with "(no one does)". This is sort of a contradiction, because to say, 'no one does' is assuming that you know everything there is to know about not-knowing.

:)

Absolutely. I hate the thought of believing a lie. Believing in God does take faith. The evidence for him isn't black and white. But evidence for his existence does exist, if we are poen to it.

So, I can truly see the reasons why some people are atheists. I think we need to weigh out what all the evidence put together spells out.

When I did this, the evidenced weighed far in God's favor.

Sure, I'd go for it. I'm actually in the midst of an internal debate at the moment because I went out and educated myself. I'll prolly end up where I was and still mostly identify with that, but I was still destabilized.

My faith is not blind. If you could prove there is no God, I wouldn't believe. If you could show me the bones of Jesus, I wouldn't trust in His death and resurrection. If you could show me that the Word of God was not from God, I'd throw it away.

But you can't.

Christianity is not a "religion" or a crutch for this life. Our hope is not that He will make everything right in this life, but that we will live forever in the next!
