It is call grounding.
Methods:
Carry a coin, use it to ground out the static.
Carry an anti-static cloth, it a cloth, people put in a cloth dryer, I use it, it has perfume that perfume the clothing too. I always use new one and few old ones in the dryer, but when the perfume is all gone I put it in my pocket I never get static shock.
