Depends on the cat. I have a large red (orange in color) tabby that weighs 18 pounds, but I've had 2 other red tabby's that were average size.

Your cat isn't grown until it reaches at least a year old. It may be in size, but a cat under a year old is still considered a kitten.

I have multiple cats, and among them are several tabby cats. They are my more svelte kitties. But at his age and weight, he really has suffered a setback, so with a good healthy diet he should catch up. My tabby cats are in the 8-9 pound range. But an orange tabby merely is a color and fur pattern, not anything specific related to any breed. But many who have an orange cat consider them very special.

My male orange tabby weighs 12 pounds and he has a little belly. I think that a healthy weight would be 10-12 pounds.

my male tabby is orange (and so cute) he weighs in at about 11 pounds but he is pretty small. My mom has a large orange tabby (hobs) and he is massive with not an ounce of fat on him, he probably weighs close to 20 pounds, with the biggest paws I have every seen. So I guess it is just a wild guess to see what they weigh.

I have 2 short-haired domestic males (but tuxedo cats, not tabbys) ... but they both reached their full growth around 10-12 months, and they each weigh around 15-17 pounds.

I also have a male, orange/white tabby domestic short hair cat. He's 1.5 yrs old. When I first got it he weights only 3lbs (3months old), and now he weights 15lbs. It's OK male cats are usually much larger than female cats.

Mine is 14 pounds but he is missing his front leg so he would probably weigh a little more if he still had it. Cats will continue to grow until they are about 2 years old. Sometimes longer.

A lot depends on what breeds are in your cat's background. Some can get really big. Mostly, they continue to get taller until they are between a 1 and 1 1/2 yrs. old, sometimes 2. Then they start to put on their adult weight. Until they are done growing, almost everything they eat goes into getting taller.

For some cats 10 lbs. is too much, if you have one that is small boned. For others, 20 lbs. or more isn't too much (like Maine Coons). It is possible for an alley cat to have Maine Coon in its background.

Just feed it, enjoy it, and watch it grow. An easy test for overweight is rib feeling. You should be able to feel the ribs, but there should be a good bit of muscle between the skin and ribs when they are full grown. Your vet will be able to tell you if your cat is overweight. Don't forget to play with him. They need a lot of exercise, even when they are full grown. It keeps them fit.

It took about 18 months for my cat to grow to full size. He's now about 14 pounds which is too damn fat.....I think 10 pounds is about right.
