The Bible teaches that man is tempted ( to sin ) When he is drawn away by his own lusts.

James 1:13,14,15---Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man;
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
That when lust hath conceived it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:21,22---Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Romans 1:22-32 clearly states Homosexuality is a sin and all who commit these and other sins listed in these verses are worthy of death, not just commit these sins but have pleasure watching others do them.

God did not create a person who would have NO CHOICE but to sin. People CHOOSE to be GAY They are not born that way.
People who claim that are calling God a liar, Which is the one impossible thing God can do.
It is impossible for God to lie. Hebrews 6:18

I am a Christian from Central Pennsylvania.

I am a member of the Church of Christ.

Thank you for this question and I only hope REAL Christians respond.

We can accept God's Word or We can choose to reject God and His Holy Word. It really is our choice.
As for me I choose to serve the Lord.

God Bless His Children in Christ.

If it was a chemical imbalance of the brain they could have a medication for it, and there is no such medication. So it must not be (A).

It's doubtful that it is an abnormal thought process since in personality testing, there is no way to detect it without asking specific questions relating to sexuality. So it is probably not (B).

That leaves (C). But you are assuming that ALL Christians believe as you do. By making that assumption, you automatically discount ANY sort of answer that would be considered "pro-homosexual". Can there be ANY answer (C) that would NOT be "pro-homosexual" ? The answers A and B to the question are very dubious, then the best "other" for C is that God made a mistake. But since our creator is infallible, he cannot make mistakes. So that cannot be the answer. So what is your answer?

The causes of homosexuality are complex, and many cases defy simple explanation. Regardless of what has caused faulty thinking, however, there is much one can do to correct it.

Nature or Nurture?

Nowadays it is popular to say that homosexuals are born that way and that sexual orientation is unchangeable. Time magazine, for example, dramatically announced: “A new study suggests that there is a structural difference between the brains of homosexual and heterosexual men.” However, this study was made on the brains of men who had died of AIDS. Surely this does not prove the point!

Environmental Factors

Consider the environment of ancient Greece. Spurred on by the erotic stories about some of their mythological gods, the writings of philosophers such as Plato, and the culture of the gymnasium where youths performed unclad, homosexuality became the rage among the elite in the Greek-speaking world. According to the book Love in Ancient Greece, “it was considered shameful in Crete for a well-born boy not to have a [male] lover.” No mysterious gene or hormone caused such decadence. It flourished because Greek culture permitted, yes, encouraged it! This well illustrates how powerful a role environment can play.

Scientists may never resolve exactly how much of a role nature and nurture play in same-sex attraction. But one thing is clear: All humans are born with the tendency to succumb to wrong thinking and inclinations.—Romans 3:23.

C. Homosexuality can have many different "root causes", stemming from childhood abuse, to gender confusion, to simple (warped) attraction to the same sex. We are not always in control of what we find attractive, or tasteful, or stimulating; those are earthly, physical things, and we are fallen creatures living in a fallen world. Our bodies WILL betray us.

Sin has become so ingrained in our species, that many "major sinful acts" now seem like "normal" impulses. It lives in our bodies, and invades our minds. Homosexuality is no different from alcoholism or adultery or pyromania or obesity or kleptomania in this regard. We are naturally prone to evil, and so we think that evil is "natural", and what is "natural" must be "right".

Paul wrote that the "flesh" (sinful nature) is at war with the "Spirit" (both of God and of man). We must therefore be on our guard, and not just assume that we can do whatever we "want". Sometimes, whaever we "want" isn't good for us.

I feel like I am evolving. I'm considering an interview James Dobson, Christian Psychologist, had with Larry King last week. His answer would fall in the catagory of choosing C:
KING: We discussed this before in the past, but not recently: Do you still believe that being gay is a choice rather than a given?

DOBSON: I never did believe that.

KING: Oh, you don't believe it.

DOBSON: I don't believe that. Neither do I believe it's genetic. I said that...

KING: Then what is it?

DOBSON: I said that on your program one time and both of us got a lot of mail for it. I don't blame homosexuals for being angry when people say they've made a choice to be gay because they don't.

It usually comes out of very, very early childhood, and this is very controversial, but this is what I believe and many other people believe, that is has to do with an identity crisis that occurs to early to remember it, where a boy is born with an attachment to his mother and she is everything to him for about 18 months, and between 18 months and five years, he needs to detach from her and to reattach to his father.

It's a very important developmental task and if his dad is gone or abusive or disinterested or maybe there's just not a good fit there. What's he going to do? He remains bonded to his mother and...

KING: Is that clinically true or is that theory?

DOBSON: No, it's clinically true, but it's controversial. What homosexual activists, especially, would like everybody to believe is that it is genetic, that they don't have any choice. If it were genetic, Larry -- and before we went on this show, you and I were talking about twin studies -- if it were genetic, identical twins would all have it. Identical twins, if you have a homosexuality in one twin, it would be there in the other.

People are born with their sexual preferences already determined by genetics, just like hair and eye color. While you can easily change those outward aspects of yourself, you shouldn't try to change the person you were born to be unless it's causing harm to you or someone else.

In my opinion, homosexuality is not harming anyone. We should all have the freedom to love anyone who steals our hearts, and if we're lucky that love will be returned. What goes on in the bedroom stays in the bedroom, and it's nobody's business
who you sleep with or what you do.

Remember, homosexuality is not a choice. Who would choose to be discriminated against, be told they can't marry, can't make end of life decisions for long time partners...I'm not even going to go into the rest of it. Anyone who thinks that it is a choice is wrong, and anyone who discriminates against them is ignorant, immoral, and inhumane.

I think its a combination. You have all sorts of people, some who claim to have homosexual feelings from a very young age; some have been traumatized by sexual misconduct at some point in their lives and become homosexual; some think they're homosexual but find out later they're not (think Anne Hecht (sp?))...the list goes on and on. Regardless of why they are homosexual, whether its a choice or not, it is forbidden by God. If they want to be Christian, they have to follow the teachings set out in the Bible like the rest of us. As an example, just as an alcoholic has to fight against drinking or a person who is a racist has to fight against racism, a person who is a homosexual has to fight against the inclinations the he/she has if they want God's approval.

the most important trick the devil ever pulled became convincing the international he did not exist. I pray for the conversion of all atheism, I my opinion atheism is an excuse to stay with out effect, human beings grow to be atheist to do what they want with out guilt or shame, what ever excuse they could throw you, about technology or evolution. Its all theories, no longer some thing from sacred scripture has ever been pr oven to be scientifically incorrect, even with the undeniable fact that the record of clinical incorrect doings ought to bypass on for ever, technology use to assert shall we drill holes in human beings heads to enable the discomfort out, the international is flat, the solar revolves round earth and different ridiculous claims like evolution. I pray for all those who've been tricked and are ignorant to God. Your souls undergo a heavy burden, ... by how ask maximum atheist the position all their loved ones who kicked the bucket are? maximum don't have any answer. And in case you want to be clinical about it, it truly is pr oven that power by no skill dies, it only adjustments form. What do you imagine occurs once you die the position does that power bypass?

We all are born with sin. I wouldn't say that they are anymore imbalanced than someone who feels the urge to steal, or someone who lies. Every single person has a certain weakness, some more than one. But if you view it in that context, then you can see where a lot of christians get it wrong. Noone's sin is better or worse than someone else's. All sins are abominations to God. But they get it right when they say that God does not create anyone to be gay because he loves them. He loves all of us inspite of the messed up way we are born. Most people don't want to hear that God would not approve of someone continuing to live like that, but it is true. If one truely cares about doing what God wants, then we have to listen to what He tells us.

Christians have a responsibility to resist sin despite the temptation. Some of us are tempted in some ways, and some in others. If someone finds people of the same sex attractive, it is up to them to resist their urges, just as it is up to unmarried people to resist their urges. All of us need to live to feed our spirit, even if it makes the flesh suffer. It is unfair to single out homosexuals as sinners if you aren't judging all fornicators the same way. This is why it is better not to judge others and to instead work on your own spiritual well-being.

It is clear that there are both differences in the brain and the influence from outside sources and the devil's influence, but I can't see how it makes a difference how to live.
