Sometimes cats get excess fur oils that cause dermatitis and acne, but that usually happens more around the mouth and chin area. One of my cats was allergic to the feline leukemia shots, and would always develop a rash on his nose after the shot, which would stay for at least a month unless we got him some steroids.

Regardless of what it is, you really should take your cat in. There is no way for even a vet on the net to diagnose your cat without seeing it. The sooner the better.

No longer all. Earlier than we moved condo, considered one of our neighbour's cats was once thoroughly black. I know what you mean about a number of black cats having a white chin although. My cat is darkly colored and has no white on her apart from her chin. I feel she's probably the most multi-coloured cat ever. She's black, gray, bronze, ginger and a little of white on her chin.

SOUNDS LIKE A FUNGUS-IF SHE WERE YOUNGER I WOULD HAVE SAID PIGMENTATION OF THE SKIN USUALLY SHOW UP BY THEIR 9TH MONTH. I HAD 2 SOLID WHITE PUPS AND AS THEY GREW THEY DEVELOPED BLACK PIGMENTATION ON THEIR SKIN, WHICH IS NORMAL.
