My sky remote control has suddenly stopped working properly- I used to be able to use it to control my TV as well as the sky box, by pressing the TV button at the top-now I can't use it to turn off the TV or change the volume, its so annoying! It still changes the sky channel though. Why would it suddenly do that? I've even bought another one, but that one does the same thing. Grr!

you need to programme it to recognise your tv, sometimes it forgets, you need to look up the code in your sky booklet, and then do the following:
1 Turn on TV
2 Press "TV" on Sky remote
3 Hold down "Select" and the red button until the light blinks twice
4 press "TV" on sky remote again
5 enter code (look in sky booklet) the light should blink twice
6 press standby on sky remote - if tv switches off, press "select" - the light will blink twice
7 turn on tv and press "tv guide",
if that doesnt work, repeat
if you tell me the brand of your tv i can look up the code if youve lost the booklet

You need to get your sky book out and reprogramme the control to operate your TV. If you didn't replace the old batteries straight away, and left the remote without batteries (live ones) for more than 10 minutes its memory resets itself. So you now need to reprogramme it. Purchasing a new remote would just give you the same problem.

It will be the sky codes for the Tv, if you have recently changed the batteries and left them out too long then the remote automatically resets it self!! so i can guarente it will just need the codes putting back in!! no need for a new remote! :)

some tv's cannot be used by a sky remote and some sky remotes will not work on some tv's. mine did till i got a new tv. something to do with the frequency's.

you may not have tuned the remote to your tv. in the remotes manual there are codes and instructions on how to program the remote. your old one may have stopped working if the battery in your remote ran out and u did change the batteries within 15 minutes.

Ur remote needs recoding, did u change your batteries lately? chances are you left the batteries out for more than 5 minutes so the code has gone down.

if you replaced the batteries and you did not put the new batteries in within ten mins then you have to put the tv code in again

when you change the batteries you have to do it within a few minutes or else you lose the codes,try inputting the codes again.
