My husband came illegally from Nicaragua in 1999, we got married in 2003, what are the steps we take to get him legal? He is not using a fake social security number before anyone even trys to flame me, anyone with any advice please help,,Thanks!!

Go to a lawyer. Take this advice from me b/c my husband is from Guatemala and we had to do this same thing.
It's gonna cost you but it is worth it in the end.

you need to apply for residency based on the fact that you have been married for over 2 years. He will need to return to Nicaragua for at least 5 mos and wait for the date when the govt decides that he needs to be at the American Embassy in Nicaragua.

My suggestion to you is to contact an immigration attorney. The laws concerning immigration is ever changing, and you should not rely on heresay information.
By the way, how did you get married and register as such when he is not even here? (technically speaking...)
