For a modern concept of Christianity, conveyed from the Source in February 2006, look up "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website.
Everything that comes to you, in this life, or after, is earned. Blessings alone, are empty and worthless words.
Rational Spirituality already became the thinking person's modern bible. Have a good read.

I agree the "health and wealth" doctrine that is aspoused by many "christians" today is worthless. Christ talks about "taking up your cross and following Him." People would rather hear about a nice cuddley God that want to hug and squeeze you. That is a lie. God is not just a loving savior but a judge. He is merciful yet just. He is kind yet wrathful. And none of these things conflict with each other. He is perfectly all these things and more.

Many false prophets have gone out into the land. Also people have grown weary of the obedience, servitude, and sacrifice message and have an "itching ear" for the things they want to hear only. These will probably be the ones who will be deceived and believe Satan when he returns to claim his is Jesus. Satan will do and say what they want and they will all believe that God has spoken. I encourage any of God's elect to read the book of Revelations and accept your purpose and destiny in Christ no matter what you suffer, go without, or desire of the flesh!

That may very well be true, from what I can see of modern-day American Protestant/Evangelical Christianity as seen on TV with the televangelists. Healing, gifts, blessings....Rev. Ike, Rev. Fredrick K.C. Price, Copeland, Hagen and the like....health and wealth foolishness.
Christ said "take up your own cross and follow me.
I wish that were made clearer.
I certainly try to carry that message...and His Cross.

Well most xtians I know won't lift a finger unless they think they are going to get blessed for it. As the church numbers have gone down...the pastors made the promise of blessings go up. It's really a simple marketing strategy.

They should, and some of them are.
Jesus said repeatedly that we should love one another, and the New Testament also says that we should hold each other up in prayer. Is that not the same as allowing God to bless others through us?
To me it is.

It is called Christless Christianity, in which people have things reversed. This will be the religion of the Antichrist. Traditional Christianity is selfLESS, but the modern day version is selfISH.

It should be based on Christ and Him Crucified. That is what we should be teaching. Unfortunately, it seems most people just care about big Churches with lots of money that do not preach but say your are good people and that is enough. I think all that is HOGWASH! Many people are going to die lost thanks to those who do not want to offend anyone. I would hate to be the pastor of these churches when they end up in Hell with all the people from their congregation.
Pastors need to quit worrying about offending people and tell them what they need to hear. Not what they want to hear.
If they are not saved they are running out of time. Too many think being a good person is enough. But in the end they are going to wish their pastor told them what they needed to hear.
