Yes he is real, satan is no longer an angel, he is in hell. Hell was created specifically for satan and the angels that fell with him. Satan has the ability to leave hell, however, he will ultimately be bound there.

Satan is real. He was an angel (a/k/a messenger of God) - a better term for him is a spirit creature. He has been kicked out of heaven when Christ was enthroned as King and has been confined to the vacinity of the earth (see Revelation 12:9). The word "hell" means the common grave of mankind, so no, he isn't in hell.

Yes, Satan is very real. He was a spirit son of God, but rebelled against his Creator and thought he was better than God and desired humans to worship himself instead of God.
Satan is now in the close vicinity of the earth and the Bible says that he "walks around like a lion waiting to devour someone."
1 PETER 5:8
Hell is where all people who die are buried. It is not a fiery place of torture. Satan has been sentenced to death and soon he and his demons will be thrown into the symbolic "lake of fire" which stands for total destruction, and all who have taken a stand against the Most High God will be put out of existance with them.

This comes down to beliefs. I do not believe there is a real Satan or devil, but there is evil around you all the time. When ppl mention the devil, they say he will try to tempt you. In life, the easiest things are the most tempting, but they aren't always the right thing to do. The kids who try to get you to do something bad are the devil, the cigarette ad that tries to get you to smoke is the devil, anything that tempts you to step away from your values is the devil. It doesn't have to come in a "real" form to be real in your life. If you do bad things in your life, you will create a hell for yourself here on earth. If you do mostly good things you will create a heaven here on earth. Whatever happens when you die isn't as important as how the choices you make NOW will affect the rest of your life HERE. Basically, whatever you put out into the world, good or bad, is going to come back to you NO MATTER WHAT. :-)

If you follow traditional christian mythology, Lucifer was an Arch Angel who's job was to report the goings on and sins of humans. He became dissalusioned with God's methods and rebelled, thus becoming Satan. Satan derives from the hebrew word "Accuser", where as Lucifer comes from latin, meaning "Morning Star" and "Enlightenment". God cast Satan and his followers onto a lake of black fire, where he then released them into hell. Satan created the city of Pandemonium and became prince of Hell.
If you believe in that sort of thing, that is.

Satan is real. He is a fallen angel. He exists in the spiritual realm. He does not live in hell yet---this place is not open for business, but one day he will be there for all eternity along with all of his demons and all of the humans that followed his ways.

Satan is the spirit of selfishness, that causes separation based on ignorance, fear and distrust. That influence can be in all of us, same as God's love and truth, which overcomes fear and falseness. We have both sides in our nature so we can learn by "free will" when we are acting in true harmony and when we are not, based on whether we invoke good or bad consequences.
When innocence is corrupted as ignorance; when self-reliance is corrupted as self-serving behavior at the expense of others; when any positive trait is corrupted to be something negative or harmful, that is when rebellion turns angels into demons.
All good things in life can be corrupted and abused for evil. The point is to use the power of love and faith to forgive and correct the wrongs and to convert these to use for good purposes to restore relations that once were broken or damaged.
So God uses Satan or other bad influences to warn us where there is a spiritual problem to be corrected; and when we address that conflict and resolve it, the bad consequences associated with it, whether disease or crime or other negative situation, then those symptoms also are reduced or eliminated.
Only when we abuse negative consequences to try to control the situation ourselves, outside or against God's purpose, does the system of cause and effect become corrupted with selfish ambition. But the natural state of good and bad is to teach us consequences for actions so that we make better choices by free will; it was never meant to be corrupted to hurt, judge or punish anyone.
Hell is the state of suffering either in the physical present or collectively beyond this life, caused when people remain trapped in selfish motivations, and cannot forgive or rise above past transgressions in order to achieve resolution and spiritual fulfillment. I believe Jesus Christ descended into the depths of hell, across all time and space, to bridge the gap between human karmic sin and suffering and our eventual spiritual reconciliation with God on the collective level of heaven. So I believe all demons can be converted back into angels, and even Satan can be used for good again and not for evil.

The forces of evil can do great harm through influencing suseptable mortals to do evil work.... evil is very real and should not be messed with... satan and his forces will be consigned to hell at the end of this earth... righ now they are very busy deceiving as many mortals as they can from turning to God.
